VIDEO: Zimmermann ready to go

CSN caught up with Jordan Zimmermann on Saturday at NatsFest and talked about, among other things, his excitement for the season. Jordan says the way the 2012 season ended gives the team even more motivation heading into Spring Training.

Reminds me of that 70's show every time I watch him ....

Hope he signs on long-term. Far and away more important than Span and Soriano ....

And my guess is that they are going to have to find a way to get Tyler Moore 400-500 at bats next season. So, my guess still is its between Span, Werth, and LaRoche. If any falter we'll be seeing Tyler. Thank the baseball gods we have him and Corey Brown next season. The two great friends should provide some additional punch to make up for the loss of Morse and Werth's power decline.

Still very concerned about Espy. Almost have to pencil in Lombo as that starting 2nd baseman due to the seriousness of the rotator cuff injury. That means they must find a way to keep Carlos Rivero on the bench.

Its going to be an interesting spring training ... thankfully, the draft won't occupy Rizzo, Clark, et al as much as in the past this season. Their focus will be more on the minor league depth and the major league product. Some might disagree but at this juncture I think losing that draft pick and pool money might be a blessing in disguise.

I don't think we have much to worry about relative to the pitching staff. And I suspect that if any issue arises we'll see Rizzo jump fast to sign Vasquez.

I think that offense will again be a critical issue for this team this coming season unfortunately. But Davey is a master at balancing things out using the lineup card propitiously. Let's hope he has another good year in him when it comes to that.

Candide, it's an homage to Larry "Bud" Melman.

PED cases are like black holes: no one really knows what's down inside them but they keep influencing so many other orbits that necessarily come in contact with them. So we worry about Gio (who I believe will prove to be a solid citizen) and in an unrelated matter, we worry about Espi whose motives for non-surgery are understandable if not what many of us hoped for.

But I believe we're going to see super strong years from JZimm, Harper, SS, and even Tyler Moore. And that, I think, will carry the day for us.

World Series or Bust!
