Mark Zuckerman / NATS INSIDER |
The Nats come to town having come THISCLOSE to a six-game winning streak at home, if not for Rafael Soriano's blown save yesterday evening. They face a much stiffer challenge this weekend, facing those powerhouse Braves, who have won 17 of their last 19 and opened up a commanding, 14 1/2-game lead in the NL East.
Speaking of Soriano, odds are he won't be available to pitch tonight after appearing in three straight games (and nearly suffering two straight blown saves). Tyler Clippard also has appeared the last three days, which could leave the recently recalled Drew Storen as Davey Johnson's closer tonight should the situation present itself.
First things first: The Nationals need a good start from Taylor Jordan, who could be making his final outing of the year before his team-imposed shutdown, and they need to score some runs off Atlanta rookie left-hander Alex Wood, before they can contemplate who is going to close tonight.
Updates to come, so please check back...

7:35 p.m. — And we're underway with a ball from Alex Wood to Denard Span. For what it's worth, Davey Johnson said earlier that Rafael Soriano and Tyler Clippard would be unavailable tonight only if they told him, and to that point neither had. So take it for what it's worth.
7:44 p.m. — Bryce Harper, who was booed resoundingly in his first plate appearance in Atlanta since the Julio Teheran dust-up, doubled into the left-field corner. But that's all the Nats were able to do against Wood in the top of the first.
7:54 p.m. — And the Braves jump on the Nats for an early run, thanks in large part to Wilson Ramos' throwing error on Jason Heyward's stolen base attempt. That allowed Heyward to advance to third with nobody out, and moments later Heyward scored on a 4-6-3 double play off the bat of Freddie Freeman. Taylor Jordan did a nice job to limit the damage there, but the Nats trail 1-0 early.
8:07 p.m. — Boy, Fredi Gonzalez probably wishes he had a challenge flag right about now. Chris Johnson appeared to dive back into first base safely on Jordan Schafer's lineout to third, but umpire Marvin Hudson called him out. Sadly (for Fredi, that is) there won't be any challenge system in place until next season, so the Nats happily took the double play. Still 1-0 Braves after two.
8:17 p.m. — The Nats are having all kinds of trouble picking up the ball out of Wood's hand so far tonight. He's got a funky throwing motion that hides the ball well, and it's paying off for him. He's got four strikeouts through three scoreless innings.
8:35 p.m. — Jordan nearly induced his third double play in three innings, but Rendon's throw on the turn sailed wide and that allowed another run to score. So it's 2-0 Braves after three, though Jordan isn't really to blame for that.
8:45 p.m. — Ooh, intrigue in the top of the fourth as Wood's first pitch drills Harper in the back. Before you get all worked up, though, it was a 77 mph breaking ball. No intent there. Harper got his revenge, though, going first to third on Werth's single to left-center. That proved significant, because it allowed him to score on Desmond's 6-4-3 double play, cutting the Braves' lead to 2-1 in the middle of the fourth.
9:03 p.m. — Just a brutal sequence by the top of the Nats lineup in the top of the fifth. They had runners on second and third with one out and the Braves infield playing back. But Span struck out on three pitches, failing to even put the ball in play. He has struck out three times now tonight. And then Zimmerman grounded out to second to end the inning. That leaves the Nats 0-for-6 tonight with runners in scoring position, three of those outs on K's and another on a double play. That's your season in a nutshell, folks. Still 2-1 Braves in the middle of the fifth.
9:10 p.m. — Three errors on the Nats infield in five innings. The most recent one was a tough hop for LaRoche, but it's an E nonetheless. Props to Jordan for escaping major damage. It remains 2-1 after five.
9:28 p.m. — All in all, a solid outing for Taylor Jordan, who is probably done after six innings of two-run ball. Neither run was earned. He's at 142 total innings for the season, so this could be it for him in 2013. Ross Ohlendorf tossed four innings in a rehab start at Potomac tonight and should be ready to come off the DL in five days.
9:37 p.m. — Nothing happening for the Nats at the plate tonight. Wood finishes his outing with nine strikeouts and zero walks. He's the fifth pitcher to put up that line against the Nats this joining, joining Cliff Lee, Matt Harvey, Roy Oswalt and Clayton Kershaw. So, yeah, three of the guys to do that are named Lee, Harvey and Oswalt. Too bad Ian Kennedy didn't do it, too. Still 2-1 at the stretch.
9:58 p.m. — Wow, some fireworks in the top of the eighth as Luis Avilan fires a first-pitch fastball into Bryce Harper's upper back. Harper was not pleased, neither was Davey Johnson. Plate umpire Marty Foster issued warnings to both benches, and Avilan departed to a standing ovation from the crowd. So how did the Nats respond: Werth delivered a two-out RBI single to right, tying this game 2-2 in the eighth.
10:07 p.m. — Nice job by Craig Stammen with two scoreless innings. We go to the ninth, it's still 2-2 and Craig Kimbrel enters to face LaRoche, Ramos and a pinch-hitter.
10:15 p.m. — The Nats got two hits off Kimbrel in the top of the ninth, but they couldn't get the go-ahead run home. So now here's Drew Storen in his return to the big leagues, pitching the bottom of the ninth of a tie game in Atlanta.
10:30 p.m. — Wow, quite a performance by Storen. He allowed a one-out single to Simmons but came up huge to strike out Evan Gattis (who had been 6-for-8 with four homers as a pinch-hitter!) on a nasty slider. Storen then got Gerald Laird to fly out, ending a 17-pitch, 13-strike inning and sending this one to extra innings, still tied 2-2.
10:40 p.m. — Harper (who nearly was hit by another pitch just now) showed some nice discipline in laying off a 3-2 slider from Scott Downs to draw a one-out walk in the 10th. Unfortunately, Werth grounded into a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning. Bottom of the 10th upcoming, with Ian Krol now in.
10:47 p.m. — And Justin Upton takes Krol deep to end this one. Nats lose 3-2 in 10.

Game 121: Nats at Phillies
If only we could be that lucky. I hear the Phillies are in turmoil these days.
Well we won 5/6 against two bad teams. We did what we needed to do (although 6/6 should've been done). Now we see whether we're really playing better or not because this is a good team.
i hope if a save opportunity arises Davey goes with somebody other than SORRY OH NO. Also upset with Desmond for not adjusting to the situation. Werth on second with 0 outs. Desmond watches strike 3. That ball has to be put in play to move the runner. 2 swings for the fences and then bat on the shoulder. Why???
We left a lot of runners on base in that last game with the G-ants. Wad we have the bases loaded 2X and little to no scoring?
The Buffalo probably could have helped us!
Secret wasian man said...
"2 swings for the fences and then bat on the shoulder. Why???"
Because he thought it going to be a ball?
I get the feeling that a lot of people think hitting is a lot easier than it actually is. You don't get five seconds to decide what you think of a pitch.
Doc, the problem is that Haren came up with the bases loaded not once but twice. He left 6 on base by himself. To Bochy's credit, he was IBBing half of our team to get to Haren it seemed like and it worked.
2 strikes you have to protect. Ian backward Ks much too often.
does Werth strike out looking? Does Bryce?
Yeah, you're right DP. Haren was up twice with the bases jacked.
Two bad that the Buffalo wasn't hitting ahead of him, and maybe they wouldn't have been so loaded.
Bryce does strike out looking. So does Werth. But even then, they're not Ian. they don't approahc hitting the same way, because they're good at different things.
You're right, secret wasian man. Desmond's approach at the plate is no good at all. That's why he's such a terrible hitter. He should start tinkering with it. Only good things can happen.
To answer your question: yes, Werth and Harper strike out looking too. It's part of the game. If guys never struck out looking they'd also never walk, and they'd strike out swinging all the time. It's part of the game. As is the fact that there aren't a thousand Joey Vottos and Miguel Cabreras out there, so you should stop expecting the Nats to field 8 of them every night.
@ZuckermanCSN Werth just spent 15 minutes talking about his love of Manuel. Called him best manager he's ever had.
Sounds like Werth is lobbing for him to end up here???
Mark Zuckerman @ZuckermanCSN 9m
Would Werth want Manuel in DC next year? "Of course. I don't know if he fits in the organization's plans, but of course."
I don't think we need someone who is 70 and I highly doubt he ends up here. But Werth obviously has a ton of respect for him.
Werth calls Charlie Manual "the best manager he's ever had". Better than Davey circa 2012?
Ghost, Charlie was the first manager to give Werth a real shot as an everyday player. Of course Werth is going to feel extremely loyal to him. Without Cholly, he doesn't get 7 years/ 126 mil.
Cholly? No way. He is not the same guy he was when Werth had him. Phils are moving on with Ryne Sandberg. Time for us to move on also. The Barves did NOT dominate us- two one run games and a tie late in the third. I am so tired of everyone handing this thing to them on a silver platter. Time for someone to slow their roll. Like the Nats.
Appreciate your positive support Swam.
Most of us have lost a lot of faith, at least in this year.
I'll be back watching to-night.
Taylor Jordan has been not-great his last couple of starts. And that was against the Brewers and Phillies. I'm a little concerned about how he fares against the Braves. Particularly given that our bullpen is likely to have to eat innings and both Clip and Soriano are probably unavailable.
Madonna says go Nats!
"cause I'm living in a Naterial World and I'm a Naterial girl"
Let's sweep the Barves. Maybe we can get Fredi Gonzalez fired also.

Relief from the Legionaires of Doom!
DP, Soriano is "...probably unavailable"
we can only hope!
David, I was making a provocative tongue in cheek comment. Again, probably not something you say out loud with the definitive part of it even though I believe Werth feels that way for the exact reasons you mentioned.
As much as I want the Nats to play well, win, make a run and all that good stuff-- much more I want them to learn, toughen up, correct problems, grow up, and get in a place where they are relevant for many years to come. I will tolerate this, choke it down and pay some more fan dues if it looks like it's going to lead things in the right direction.
DP, Taylor is showing the 1st year of pitching effects from TJ surgery. Loosing location on his FB, and his breaking stuff is not as sharp as it was.
He hasn't had as much control over his change either, as he had a few starts back. He'll be back next spring, looking for a spot.
The kid has done well, but time to shut him down.
DP -- both Roark and Stammen are pretty fresh.
Also, I think Taylor's start tonight coincides with what is supposed to be Olly's last rehab start, so I guess the thinking is that he comes up while TJ leaves, which I'm sure everyone who's paying more attention already knew....
Yeah, big Ohly is pitching at the Pfitz tonight. He will look like their Grandpa. If all goes well he takes over. Taylor has been a bright spot.
I'll bet Roark gets a few innings of work tonight. Storen will get an inning, and we can only hope that it's a save opportunity. Maybe Krol gets that chance if Freeman and McCann are due up.
Sec 222
If he does I hope he fares better than he did against Belt.
Mark Zuckerman @ZuckermanCSN 39s
Davey says Soriano and Clippard are available tonight, unless they come and tell him they're not. So far, they haven't. #NationalsTalk
I think they will pull Taylor at the first sign of trouble and use Stammen and Roark-- Krol if the match ups are there. Would love to see Druuuuu but wish they had let him get his feet wet at home against the Giants instead of away versus the Barves.
Don't know how many of the road trip games I'll see, as our houseguests are arriving tonight and staying until Wednesday. I'll be doing the hostessing, tour guide thing more than the avid Nats fan thing (they're not really into baseball).
In other news, did anybody else get an email about the September 1 game's time being changed from 1:35 to 8 PM because ESPN picked it up? We have tix and I can't wait to break that news to my husband. Oh well, at least the next day is a holiday.
Oh, and GO NATS!!
YIKES! I didn't get that email about the Sept 1 game going from 1 to 8. That sort of wrecks our "baseball weekend" because we were going to stay in Old Town and take the baseball boat back and forth Saturday and Sunday. Might need to rethink the whole thing. Darn.
I hope Taylor pitches the daylights out of those Braves, that Wilson is indeed good to go And that we need to see Drew come in and be his old Drew self. GYFNG!
I am shocked that ESPN is actually showing a game that does not include the Ysnkees or Red Sox. Betting the coverage will be dreadful.
swami, yeah, I had the same thought.
Here's the body of the email that I received from nationals.com:

NATIONALS TICKET HOLDER ADVISORY August 16, 2013
================================================
GAME TIME FOR SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 VS. METS - 8:05 P.M. ET
Due to ESPN's selection for its Sunday Night Baseball telecast, the Sunday, September 1 game vs. the New York Mets at Nationals Park will now start at 8:05 p.m. Please note this special start time and plan accordingly. The Center Field Gate will open at 5:30 p.m.
For a list of all parking and mass transit options, visit nationals.com/waytogo.
Yikes. Anyone else watching pre- game?? Soriano's numbers are pretty shaky.
As I've said, Soriano's issue is his slider. He CAN strike people out, but it's entirely based on the command of his slider. He hasn't been able to consistently command it all year and that's a problem. Because without the slider, all he has is one pitch: a low-90s fastball. Big league hitters will hit that.
But hitters are batting 290 against him?? How in the world has he managed 30 saves?? Sick of all this Philly melancholy- he didn't die. Knowledgeable fans in Pa have known for a long time that he is not good with younger players. That team has declined every year for five years. That's how it works. Jayson is remembering a better time and place.
DP, it's not his slider, it's the location, its been awful, regardless of what pitch he throws...if its over the plate at 90, it's going to be hit if the location is poor but I do agree that he can't even throw his slider in the dirt anymore.
ESPN must be banking on a Strasburg vs Harvey game that Sunday.
Will be interesting to see how instant replay affects the time of a game next year but am glad they are doing it, way over-due. Johnny & Ray are talking about the issue right now.
According to B-R, hitters are batting .254 against Soriano. Maybe they switched his numbers with Storen's. Hitters are batting .297 against him this year.
Pre game said .255 against him career, 290 this season. Very high. Also ranks low in every category in the NL.
And feel? Wouldn't it be hilarious if Harvey was shut down by then and they got Big Ohly vs some unknown Met call up?
I didn't see the pregame, but if it said hitters are batting .290 against him this season, it was wrong. His career average against is .205. You can look it up.
LOL at the Braves fans booing Harper. I love it!
Boo that.
Fans in Atlanta have really changed. They used to be smart and classy. Now they boo, throw trash - if they show up at the games. Low attendance for such a hot team.
don't want to rile up 222 but we better get revenge this weekend and hit one of theirs...don't care who although would like it to be McCann who went all tough guy once the home plate ump got involved or Justin Upton...don't want a ball anywhere near the head...leg, butt, ribs will be fine...but send the message that we remember you intentionally hit our guy...team need to show Harp they have his back.
A tough place to pitch for jordon tonight. I like the kid. Oh lord ..... Ramos...here we go
Why throw the ball when it's ball 4...
Stee- ruggling right here early in the game. Sheesh.
Run doesn't score if Ramos doesn't throw that away.
Great job by Jordan to work out of it and if Ramos doesn't throw on Ball 4, it's a 0-0 game. You can't give away runs to this team.
And it does not look like Jordan will have to intentionally hit anyone tonight. His command is not the best so far and he will probably get away with it. Maybe it's just a nefarious conspiracy. Look wild so you can hit someone and get away with it. Not bad getting out of that with only one run. Of course, that would mean we need two. Ahem.
swami, hear ya, Wood looks good so far but I know zippo about him other than he is a top prospect... very odd delivery which means we may not figure it out until its too late...would really love to beat these guys 12-1!!!
Just a reminder last series RISP Nats 1 for 19. We need to raise that for sure.
Braves RISP was 7 for 22.
Tonight both. 0 for 1 but there 0 mote productive.
Ryan's throws have had way more zip on them lately.
Freddy Gonzalez throws the red flag
best throw to 1st by Rzim all year even tho is was safe.
Nah Ryan had a throw the other day that was fantastic. It was during Strasburg's complete game. He's been good for about a week now.
Zim. When he doesnt think but just reacts he is fine.
I threw my brave red flag. As a fan watching i call flags for both managers.
MASN use to have super slo mo. We needed it for that play.
I agree Nats jack. Without the super slo mo, coild 200% tell.
good to see Rzim's arm strength lately, we need it to continue...don't think, just throw. When he pauses or has time is when he gets in trouble which means it's mental.
The story FP said about what the vets did to Jordan was great.
100% correct.
The ball was way outsidr and on top that, he swung like he wanted to pull it.
Do we need another Cox meeting.?
That exact pitch, curveball on the outside, wasn't called just 2 pitches ago. And this one was even further outside. Robot umps please.
Wow what a swing. 2-2 is not as good hitting count as 3-1. That last strike swung around home it seem to me.
Now 0 for 3 RISP . Teall bad habit against the Braves all season.
David a bigger complaint of home plate umpires to me is tge strike zone is simply not the same for every pitcher.
It simply should not change ( except for the height at the top end).
We're insistent on giving away runs tonight.
Story of our season
Another freaking error leads to another freaking Braves run.
Stop it I say, stop it!
They just do not help him out. In fact- they actively hurt him when he pitches. Snakebit. Trial by fire.
I'm pissed too but Rendon is learning a new position...he rushed the throw and didn't need to, he will learn from it.
Oh- and now the gag me chop and racist chanting.
Fielders are killing you, but your Whip this game is setting you up for non success.
I hate that chop crap. Jump on tgeir ass tge chop would disappear.
Amanda Comak @acomak now
That makes 11 errors behind Taylor Jordan this season, who is making his 9th career major league start. #Nats have not done him many favors.
Unbelievable.
Next year we will look back on this and laugh. We will see how the lessons of this season made them a better team. It will be like waking up from a bad dream.
I wonder if ALR didnt see it well as he didnt move until way late. See it well get off and catch it unless Upton right where he wanted to go.
Lets hope.
We need to end season like the Dodgers past 50 games have been 40-10..
We are 5-1 and last 48 games 39-9 we make the playoffs.
Ince one team shows it xan happen.
The crowd cheering as Harper gets HBP...
Plunkes
Braves fans cheering when Harper gets hit, the lowest of lows...what crap fans!
I am coming on to complain about our current play.
Sickening.,We need to make hurt on the field, though. So tired of the Philly pathos. Can we table it now?
That is funky hand twist from the Braves
WODL, welcome, that's allowed, speak your peace, counsellor.
I am displeased by our lack of offense so far.
I love Werth's at bats.
Good hustle by Harper.
This inning they are trying to get back in tge game.
Our individual batting averages versus Atlanta this year are putrid.
GDP is our best play for scoring a run.
We lead in earn runs now.
That double play was hit softer than the one we threw away.
if Harper doesn't go 1st to 3rd on the Werth single, we likely don't score this inning...sorry ALR.
Btw, LaRoche could have easily stepped off first on the Rendon throw and have prevented the run.
Team avg is .010 different.
Being down one run puts us back in the game because we can tie with a homer and we don't need any base runners to do that.
I agree 100% not sure why he never moved til it was by.
I'm disappointed we weren't the ones to plunk a batter first, but at least the Harper/Werth combo made them pay, at least a little.
Anybody else hear them cheering when Harper was hit? Damn, I hate Braves fans. I was about to make an insensitive comment, but I won't, knowing that there are Nats Ladies present.
Baseball needs a method to apportion errors. I would have given both Rendon and LaRoche .5 of an error on that play.
WODL, looked like the runner took the inside lane to first and took ALR out of the play but tough to tell...Rendon had more time than he thought and just made a poor throw...good throw and we are out of the inning.
Yes , laroche a statue on that. Maybe ghost is right about him hiding a back injury
106, read above, I did re. the cheering/Harp HBP and so did DP.
Yeah, not the greatest throw but I often notice on plays like that that both players seem to screw it up. The same thing happens on those throws from Ramos to center that we see so often.
You got to get your guy on 3rd with no outs to make the GDP your friend. The Nats have perfected the art, except for that Cleveland series when they couldn't even hit into GDP's. That is basically rock bottom.
Now me, with my Jim Gentile first baseman's mitt, I would have come off first and saved the run, but that is just me. I am risk averse.
Paul B-sorry don't read well after the 1st 3 beers. Thanks for letting me know-I'm glad to know I wasn't alone. Nice DP to close that inning.
We are almost into the Braves bullpen. We better do something in the next two innings before their bullpen comes in and makes us their ....
The Buffalo!!!!
Jewett would have sent him to 2nd
This wood guy has nothing. Wait him out and rake!
Third straight inning we have the lead off batter on base, need to get them across the plate.
It's going to take a triple to score the Buffalo from second.
They use a calendar to clock Ramos running the bases.
Gotta love this kid jordon
Good fundamental baseball. Great bunt by Jordan. Let's bring in 2 now
Come on Span.
Can't believe my ears, the Barves tv guy just complimented TJ on his sac bunt!
Span has looked silly in this game at the plate.
Cue the Span haters.
Typical.
not a Span hater but that was a pathetic AB, we are just an awful offensive team.
My wife just said if you don't swing at strikes you can't get a hit. and she doesn't even follow baseball....
If Span has lost half a step, that might be the difference, but .310 obp with 10 stolen bases, seriously? That was the plan for lead-off? Or was there ever a plan? All I know is Span doesn't even try to steal bases this year.
Span has to find a way to make contact with the ball there.
Rendy to the endy!
Ramos might not have beaten out a sac fly anyway.
But I liked everything up til then. That 5-4 from Zim would have scored a run with 1 out. Unfortunately it's a little to late for "missed it by that much"
excuse me 4-3
PAul you beat me to it. If you want the season sum upped in one inning there it was. And Zimm stinks too. Bryce Rendon Ramos rookie pitcher and of course Werth deliver. ZIMM ALR IAN oh boy ian, and of course Span on the road just killing this team.
If that play doesn't sum up our season.... I don't know what does.
well if ALR gonna bat 230 he sure better make those plays. 3 errors and counting. bad team. just beat up on much worse teams the last 5 of 6
Think this jordon is gonna be special .... Next year
Zone a lot bigger for braves pitchers
Love Jordan kid. Im just sick of our Vets not delivering. BTW classless bunch in ATL to cheer a hit batsmen. And another BTW UMP SUCKS. That's ball four to bryce
Just thinking back to Span's last AB, why isn't Hairston in the lineup tonight? Given a lefty on the mound and Span's numbers on the road I don't understand this.
Gutless rednecks hate Bryce for no reason. I hope Pittsburgh kills them in the playoffs. We sure cant beat them.
this flipping kid is not that good but yet again the Nats make a pitcher look like Cy Young...and Marty Foster (HP ump) is far from consistent...ugggghhhhhhh!!!!!
SPAN, zimm ALR and the Great Desmond 0 for 11
Desi needs to get his head out of his a$$. What was he swinging at?
It's 2-1 but it feels like its 10-1. We will go to the pen and then it will 5-1. Then it's to the hotel bar
This game has encapsulated our entire season:
Bad situational hitting, atrocious fielding, good starting pitching, and a loss to a so-so starting pitcher.
Our pitchers, catchers and relievers should watch these Braves guys and learn.
96. Wow
No way Morse would have caught that little flair in left....
NJ, agree, bring up Tyler Moore and maybe even some others, our problem is offense, you can't let this continue, try something else...even Harper vs. lefties is a problem...we need a manager that's not afraid to change line-ups given the match-ups on a game by game basis.
Taylor Jordan deserves a better fate tonight.
Wasian dude, won't be the Pirates. They are this year's Nationals. Looks for my Cards to take it to them and put the T Chop to sleep until 2014.
The only thing that will keep my heart warm this winter is the thought of Jesus, Zimm'nn, Gio, Jorgan and Det/Ohly/Whomever going out every fifth day next season for Manager Bo Porter.
Gonna be running
Bo Porter leaving his hometown?
Sunshine, I;m pulling for Bo, too. I really want him to be our guy.
Now back to the bourbon. I need it straight tonight.
Brooks Robinson!
My heart be still! Not only did the Barves tv guy compliment Jordan on his sac bunt earlier, now he is saying how impressed he is with his pitching!
NatsJack, we may have to revise that list of worse TV announcers as homers!
JaneB,
I'm already there, bourbon that is.
Straight bourbon it is, JaneB. We're not showing enough fight to add the Maalox.
Almost every game against the Barves it's one run. Three errors. One hit, one play made here and there. This almost frustrates me more than getting blown out. Why is Tyler Moore not here??? Not like anyone in the bench is doing anything that can't be replaced.
Actually, the Braves have outscored us 52-26 this year, but there have been a few winnable ones where we blew it.
Part 2-- Tyler Moore can play first and surely provide some more offense than we are seeing .
Did research. First 4 series ATL bull pen 0.00 against us.
Also RISP we are 13 for 80 not counting tonights not to good an effort.
Amen Swami ALR is almost an automatic out. I hope Sorry OH no is watching the Braves bullpen. WOW this UMP IS TERRIBLE
Carpenter.... He of the 97-99 FB. And you say...where did he come from?
Woodford Reserve and Ginger. Tough to win games when you have as many errors as hits.
Except Suzuki
As I said before. He needs to pee in the jug. Something just ain't right
This game has been exactly what I expected, to the T, score, style of play and of course, result.
Same old Nats. Just another sorry lackluster performance by the offense. defense stunk tonight also. We should just forfeit to Atlanta and rest.
I told you last time we played them Jays put him on waivers
Nice choice, 106.
oh cool, we are that much closer to Kimbrel with that lame showing in the 7th...Braves have a darn good bullpen, that I must admit.
I am getting tired of watching the same game over and over again.
Hitters have looked clueless again. With the errors removed we would have been ok.
when this team plays good teams it is just like watching grass grow. zzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzz
Nats106,
Woodford Reserve......good taste!
Braves gettin that lefty up. Scared of Tracy
Most against the Brave start like this some they widened at the end.
game was lost when Span put NO wood on the ball with guys on second and third and Zimm, once again didn't deliver.
big cat HAHAHAHAHAHA
oh and most importantly. still no retaliation on the Bryce beaning.
Ok. Here's our spot. In the ribs!
The lefty Avlion ( or whatever) 35 games in a rown no earned runs. Second longest streak in MLB history. Longest Craig Kimbral in 2011 38 games.
We needed to be ahead before the bullpen comes in.
Yes secret...... 2 outs no one on base. Their big stud up. Plunk! But nooo
Our best offense against the Braves is getting Bryce hit.
We should have a WRC (woodford reserve club) meeting before the game that we either are officially in the playoffs or officially eliminated. That way everyone wins. Who's in?
No Braves fans allowed.....
George Dickel or Knob Creek or Dalwhinnie or Lagavullin.
That's my man!
I'll ask again, why isn't Hairston in the lineup tonight?
SPAN!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA just putrid against lefties.
106,
Would it be okay if I participate from long distance?
That's bull crap!
wow just ridiculous. were the hell is MLB. what a bunch of disgusting fans. bottle throwing Rednecks
This B.S. has got to stop. This entire Barves organization is bush, with a capital B.
Wish we had MPH Rod just to buzz one to the backstop.
Now you see. We did nothing back in DC. And now they are urinating on us. Davey is a punk!!
