Nationals second baseman Danny Espinosa is considered day-to-day after taking a pitch off his right wrist during Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Braves. Espinosa left the game after the fourth inning, staying in for several frames after suffering the injury in the bottom of the second.
Afterwards manager Davey Johnson said that X-rays were negative, but that Espinosa will likely miss a game or two in the team’s next series at Miami.
“Everything right now is pretty sore,” Espinosa said. “It just happened and everything you do right after it happens is going to be sore.”
“It got worse, I thought it would calm down but it just got worse. It started throbbing more, it got more and more swollen and got stiffer, that’s when I decided to come out.”

They've got Lombo and Kobernus. No worries.
Thanks for the update, Chase.
Must have really been barking for Espi to come out. Feel better, Danny.
Actually good team news, but I do feel sorry for Espinosa.
Plenty worries for Spinner, Peric... He needs to be healthy and hitting, this year. As you point out, there are plenty of fellows breathing down his neck, right now...
For Danny yep ... plenty of guys that could end up in his spot. Of course no one else can do what he does at shortstop if Desmond goes down so ... losing Danny has a lot of ramifications.
I'm more worried about the anemic hitting and the bullpen.
anemic hitting? before the weekend, we were getting reps for a deep lineup and I will still stick with that.

Nine to nothing. Last season there wasn't a single game like that. Plus there was that blow out in Cincinnati.
Anemic offense.
