Marquis had MRI before signing

Turns out the Nationals did require Jason Marquis to undergo an MRI of his elbow and shoulder before signing him in December to a two-year, $15 million contract.

Read Marquis' comments and Mike Rizzo's take on the injury on CSNwashington.com.

... thank you Mark. I stand informed, and thankful for the brass's thoroughness. In light of that information, I am surprised that bone floaters came on so quickly.

Go Nats!!

I feel a bit less creepy about Marquis now, but it really does seem as though he ought to really take care of it definitively. But I know nothing--I'm neither an orthopedist nor a pitcher.

Well, we're learning. I am still afraid we're getting Brian Lawrenced here.

well, at least they're not waiting two years to figure that out. They've got guys to bring up, and they are bringing them up. Can't ask for more than that.
