Photo by Mark Zuckerman / NATS INSIDER Nyjer Morgan slams into the fence after catching Chris Young's drive last night. |
Morgan was still awaiting results of the MRI before the Nats' game against the Diamondbacks, but he was hopeful the injury was nothing serious and he could return to the lineup tomorrow.
Morgan said he first noticed something in his hip two weeks ago while the Nationals were playing in Cincinnati, perhaps when he ran into the wall trying to track down Brandon Phillips' triple off Stephen Strasburg.
"I think that's what might have caused it," he said. "But otherwise, I'm clueless when it happened and how it happened."

I can certainly live with Bernie in center and Morse in right.
In fact, I think most of us started clamoring for this lineup back in late May or so.
What he said
What they both said.....
Add Desmond at short and Gonzalez at second.
Nyjer has been so productive lately. And his joyful personality was a catalyst for change in the club house as well as on the field. I will be glad when he comes back to center field. And even if you're not, give the guy some props for being the ignition point that began the way this team has found itself a team, rather than a set of individuals.
