The first fan

Ladies and gentlemen: The President of the United States (wearing a red Nats jacket and a black White Sox cap).

His pitch to Ryan Zimmerman was high and inside to a left-handed batter.

Looks like no "dad" jeans for the First Father today!

He should just bring a basketball and go for a jumpshot at the mound. He can't look worse. Caron Butler is the only one worse.

Somebody should bring a mop to clean up all this hatorade people are spilling today. It's Opening Day. Check the attitudes and snarky comments at the door and just enjoy that the President is continuing a tradition going back almost a century now. No matter who does it, it's always pretty cool to see the President throw out the first pitch, especially from the rubber.

Who was the first president to throw the pitch from the mound? I know Nixon threw from the stands, as did all his predecessors, so did Ford throw from the mound?

Bush 41 threw from the mound at Camden Yards.

Ford never threw a first pitch for the Senators. They were gone before he became president.

That was not inside to a left-handed batter. That was over and behind the head of a Ryan Howard-sized lefty.

Gee, I don't remember the Internet being this nasty during Watergate...

Clinton threw to the plate from about 40 feet at Camden Yards. Not exactly the mound.
