CHICAGO -- Stephen Strasburg's rehab tour has officially booked its next stop. The recovering Nationals right-hander will start Friday night at high-Class A Potomac, the closest he'll get to Washington before making his official return from Tommy John surgery next month.

Five days after throwing 31 pitches over 1 2/3 innings for low-Class A Hagerstown, Strasburg will climb one level up the Nationals' farm system. He's slated to throw three innings or about 45-50 pitches for Potomac against Myrtle Beach (an affiliate of the Texas Rangers).

Coming up from Greensboro NC to make hometown visit and by chance grabbed two tickets earlier today because it was Ian Desmond Bobblehead night. Super amped to hear this news this evening any one else going to make it?

I had bought tickets for the same reason, Sean, because you can never get enough free Nats swag.

I don't go to Phillies games because I hate the visiting phans, so I am missing Ian Desmond Bobblehead night. But I snagged dour seats for PNats for Friday, so it's a double bonanza of happiness for me.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes fine with Stephen. It will be great to see him back with the parent club.

JaneB - I wish you the best with your dour seats - dour: Stern, harsh and forbidding. Unyielding and obstinate. Sounds like a grim night of baseball-viewing, intent on Strasburg being good as new!

gates open at five - see any reason to be there before 4:45 (aside from bobbleheads, raffle to get signed jersey, and a chance to see stras)?

I'll be there with my nats gear and beautiful new wife - maybe two nephews if i can convince their mother that foul balls won't be flying at them non-stop.
