Yes, this website drew its 1 millionth page view this morning.
Thank you to everyone for making this possible and for continuing to make this site a must-read for Nationals fans. I've truly enjoyed hearing from so many of you, meeting some in person and interacting with plenty others online, and I've been grateful for all of your comments and suggestions along the way.
With that in mind, I'm pleased to announce that one of the most popular reader suggestions from the season's first half (Nats Insider T-shirts) are now available to the general public. We've set up a marketplace on Cafe Press -- www.cafepress.com/natsinsider -- with more than a dozen items available for purchase. As the almighty Yogurt proclaimed in Spaceballs: "Moichendising! Moichendising!" So now you can buy Nats Insider: The T-Shirt! Nats Insider: The Coffee Mug! Nats Insider: The Flamethrower! (The kids love this one.) Please note that $5 of every purchase goes directly to this site.
Another note for those of you who haven't been a regular-season subscriber but are interested in becoming one: You can now sign up for a second-half subscription at a discounted rate. Here's the extra content you'll receive for each of the following subscription levels...
RED -- Audio file of either Jim Riggleman's pregame or postgame media session, or of a Nats player or executive, from every game I cover in person. Price: $20 for the remainder of the season.
WHITE -- All extras given to RED subscribers, plus a weekly podcast from myself discussing the most-significant events of the week. Price: $30 for the remainder of the season.
BLUE -- All extras given to RED and WHITE subscribers, plus a special preview of each upcoming new series, featuring head-to-head stats between projected starting pitchers and opposing batters. Price: $40 for the remainder of the season.

Congrats Mark! You've delivered everything you promised and more. Being a Nats fan is often painful, but you make it much more bearable with your thoughtful and reliable analysis (and photos!).
Just like Boris? Check eeeet Out, schweeeet!
The Flamethrower? Hah that's good. No bobbleheads?
Where's the Mini Soda twins?
Mark, I'm merely a casual reader of Nats blogs but yours is among the very best. When the year started I rolled my eyes when I heard that "some cheapskate reporter" wanted fans to pay for him to work at the Nats' Spring Training. Well the joke was on me, you met your early financial goals because people already realized you do the BEST job at covering the ballclub. The johnny-come-latelys like me soon learned where to turn - Nats Insider - for great analysis, and it sure ain't the WaPo! (Boz excluded, of course, and AK you cannot publish a blurb without some grammatical or spelling error can you?) Best of luck Mark and keep up the good work. Go Nationals 2010.
Way to go Mark.
You have certainly made this a must read site.
Gotta get off here and get my t-shirt and coffee mug.
Thanks again
Congrats, Mark, and good idea on the second half subscriptions for "late adopters." Come on in, folks, the water's fine!
Now, if I could just figure out which shirt to order. Mark or other Cafe Pressers, might it be possible to mix and match slogans, if I wanted a certain tee but with a different slogan than it shows? (Love the sportswriter one.) Thanks!
Oh, and you might think about offering asbestos suits, as a counterpoint to the flamethrowers. Just thinking out loud here...
Congrats Mark....job well done....thanks....PS any word on Rizzo's "very active" July 2 INTL FA comment. I hate to just let him slide yet again after 4 years of false promises it is time the truth gets some play....what is the real story here?
Mark - Congrats. I've thoroughly enjoyed this site and consider this and the Nats Farm Authority as my 2 must-reads each & every day.
I, too, am very interested in what the Nats have done in the Int'l FA (IFA) market. Rizzo talks a big game about a "Plan" which seems to be building from within whilst judiciously spend on MLB FA. If so, then IFA's are a key component. Granted, the Nats had to do clean up last year so they got a pass but a few million a year would really help to stock a mediocre farm system. Then again, its not my money to spend just my humble opinion.
Congratulations Mark! I am happy for you and proud of you! It's like being proud parents :) this site was born because of the great need for great reporting on our favorite team and no one but you could have filled the bill. This is my go to site, everything else is secondary. I've been following you since your earliest Times' writing and you continue to set the bar. Congrats and keep up the good work!
Now on to get my "moinchendise"
That's funny, she doesn't look Druish
natsfan1a: Unfortunately, you can't mix and match slogans and T-shirts. We tried to have several different varieties, but there were only so many we could do. Sorry about that.
Thanks, Mark. I'll go with my second fave slogan, then. :-)
Sister Natsfan1a, I still have to go to the can man? The Hall pass you gave me didn't work?
LOL, Anon! :-D
Sign "the Chief", dump Batista!
In a related move, the club optioned Chad Cordero to Triple A Tacoma and Cordero opted to become a free agent instead of accepting the assignment.
(Cues up "Hail to the Chief")
Mark,
Congratulations! I knew this site would be successful. I'm going to immediately purchase a shirt. (Look for me wearing it at the ballpark).
So, when is the mad, raging party at Nats Park gonna happen? I'd wear my shirt and even PAY. It would be fun.
Mark, of course you have a million page views. You are the man. In you we have the one and only beat reporter who has covered this team from Day One--unlike the mainstream media outlets in our fair Capital City.
Keep up the great work! I will continue to subscribe to whatever gulps of access you offer.
This gave me goose bumps. Well done, Mark.
I want a Mark Zuckerman bobblehead....
Perhaps a bit more expensive than what you were thinking of, Pat, but I gotta say that the domain name is pretty awesome...

WTG Mark! You are a blessing to NatsTown fans everywhere!!
-Just wondering, not that it matters much to me, but does that count every time I have to "refresh" to get the latest update during a game?
Congrats Mark! Well done.
I'm delighted at your achieving this milestone; I hope that this enterprise is a huge success for you. As I've mentioned before, your work has added enormously to my enjoyment of the season. You have created a very nice community here, and I'm grateful. I'll be wearing my T shirt at the ball park, and next year at spring training.
And Sister Natsfan1a, I went to the can but there was no TP? So, I used my Hall Pass ... hope that was okay? ;)
Mark, I hope you're happy with how this year is turning out. Regardless out what we each paid, we're the ones getting the best part of this deal.
I noticed none of the invisible T-Shirt models have my beer belly. Guess I'll just order the pink spaghetti-t and make the rest of you suffer.
Les in NC: Thanks! As far as the pageview counter goes, I believe it counts any time any page on the site is loaded. So I suppose it counts it many times when you refresh a game thread. I do know the number of individual "visits" to the site -- accessing any page on this site from another site or an empty screen -- is around 500,000. And the average number of pages viewed per visit is a little more than 2. So it would appear the majority of people out there aren't just refreshing the same page over and over (not that I'm telling you to stop doing that, of course!).
The best part is, if we wear our tees to the ballpark, we won't need to develop a secret handshake in order to identify fellow denizens.
Anon, I LOLed. Again. :-)
Mark, congratulations to you. This is my favorite spot on the Nats blogosphere!
Thanks and congrats Mark. You and Goessling bring us great writing and analysis.
Can't have enough Tee Shirts!
Congrats Mark! I just signed up for a blue account to show my appreciation and support.
thanks for giving us some great inside info on our Naddiction.
