Possibly more.
"He came in earlier ... and said that part of the reason he bunted was because he couldn't swing," Johnson said. "So I said we're just going to take it easy today. Especially a day game after a night game where it bothered you. Get work on it, hopefully you can get by it."
Thus, Desmond is out of the Nationals' lineup for the first time since April 19 and only the second time all season. When asked about the injury this morning, the All-Star shortstop insisted he feels "fine," but his manager's actions suggest this may be more of a concern than he's letting on.

Take care and feel better, Desi.
Ditto.... If it takes a few weeks, it takes a few weeks... Your brothers will cover for you-just get strong in time to lead us down the stretch!
Take your time and heal completely. Lombo/Espi/DeRo can cover for your for a couple of weeks
Get better!!!! Much better to fix it now then tear something in Sept......
I am a huge Desmond fan and have been for a long time. If he was hurting that bad in the 9th inning he should have let Davey know and we could have sent a pinch hitter up. Makes no sense that he had trouble swinging a bat and yet was up in a clutch situation.
Go Nats!
If he needs a day off after just having 4 days off for the All Star break, he has a serious problem which will not be resolved with one day of rest.
Given the amount of pain he needs more than a day ... and that's why Espinosa is back at his old familiar spot. Have to wonder about surgery given what happened to Zimmerman last year.
Hopefully, just like with Zim, Davey is going to have him examined by a specialist.
Seems like the entire left-side of the infield got badly banged up trying to get off to a fast start. Fortunately, unlike previous years, there is reasonable depth both veteran-wise and in young prospects. That's how the consistently good teams do it.
Didn't RZ have a torn obique last season that required surgery?
If Davey is playing Espi at SS, he obviously is thinking a longer term outage (i.e., DL) is probable. The Nats have weathered lots of injuries ... this will be interesting to see if they can step up to one more. Go Lombo! Go Nats!
Some though is he need to stay loose rather than rest which tighten it up. Desi should have played in the All-Star game and he would be fine today.
