Strasburg dominates in final rehab start

Hello everyone, it's Chase filling in for Mark as he continues to adjust to the Dad Life. We have a few videos from CSNwashington.com, including two versions of highlights from Stephen Strasburg's one-hit performance last night for the Harrisburg Senators. First, we have the clip that ran in the show. And second we have the original feed from Harrisburg with our friend Terry Byrom's call (click on "Read More" to view that). Enjoy...

  1. What, no cowboy monkey rodeo footage? That's a real disappointment. Just kidding. Thanks for the videos. Nice to see SS and Pudge back on the field. I'm going for a smoothie.

  2. You want cowboy rodeo monkeys? We got footage back in July at a Chien-Ming Wang start, but no one watched it. Then, six weeks later it was all the talk in Nats Town. Anyways, here's the link:

  4. My day is fulfilled knowing exactly what a cowboy rodeo monkey is.

  5. So how does that work? Can the monkeys get off the dogs, maybe bulldog a goat? Or are they strapped in?

  7. and wouldn't Capuchin Wranglers be a good name for a ball club? Maybe for San Diego, in the rookie league?

  8. Can we have the monkeys for a mascot instead of Screech or that dreadful new Screech? Lots more fun.

  9. We could always get Elwood the Rally Possum out of retirement. Or rehab. I forget which it was. Maybe both.

  10. Looks like Stra is trying to be more of a pitcher now. Not trying to throww 100 every pitch. Good.....very good

  11. NatsTown is just a puppet on DangerNat's strings.

  12. Thanks, Chase. I'm really getting psyched for Strasmas 2.0 on Tuesday. I was also happy to see Pudge looking so good. I've missed him.

  13. As it happens, the monkeys are not strapped on. I found a piece on them, with video from the other day, from a PA news outlet here.

Also, those are rams, not goats, but Sheinin made the same mistake. And yeah, I have (a) too much time on my hands and (b) spent a fair amount of time at agricultural fairs.

I do like rally monkey mascots but it's also already been done by the Angels. I *really* like the Capuchin Wranglers moniker.

Last I heard, Elwood went away on a mission from G*d or some such. Or maybe it was to the big house. I'm not exactly clear on that one.

  14. Hey everybody where where and who are the September call ups so far?
Strasburg, Milone, Pudge and Slaten that puts them 1 over the 40 man limit unless they move LaRoche, Mattheus and Kimball to 60 days DL

  15. Frediemac, I think they're waiting for the minor-league season to end. Those other teams are supposed to play games, too. :-)

Thanks for the analysis, Big Cat. I'd forgotten that Strasburg kept trying to throw 100, but I guess a year off can do that.

  16. Frediemac - should see Bernie, but he is already on the 40 man.LaRoche should definitely be moved over. Just watched the footage above from the Senators game and was delighted to see some absolute filthiness going on there. It very cool to see pudge catching and hitting, too. Strasmas Two - The Sequel, coming to a stadium near you!

  17. I think Slaten was activated as well.

  18. Senators are in the playoffs, but we probably wouldn't see AA players anyway. Syracuse is out of it, I think, so it shouldn't matter to them if guys leave. PNats in it again, too. I like the idea of our younger players being in the playoff - maybe then when they come up, they will want that successful feeling back again.

  19. Me, too, on the kids in the playoffs gonatsgo.

I think your statement is entirely accurate, gonatsgo. I'm sure you'd agree there are limits, though; I doubt the team is keen to play a regulation game with a roster of, say, 17 guys.

Of course, if the big club actually needs something, that takes precedence over all else. Like, I think that's why Bernadina is on his way, as someone mentioned earlier.
