I think that's the right approach. I trust Davey more than Harper with regard to how best to get his timing back, and he's stated repeatedly that Harper knows his body better than anyone. I think Davey will defer on the injury but pull rank on the timing.Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00678357994045101892noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3442809928829881676.post-76498928224061065842013-06-24T21:19:39.855-04:002013-06-24T21:19:39.855-04:00"Why do we have hitting coaches?"

Zimm hit 34 in one season only. Stanton's career OPS is 894 while Zimmerman's is 815 and declining. Zimmerman is 28 and injury prone. Stanton is 23 and not. Stanton is clearly the better player with the higher ceiling. The advantage to the deal is that the Nats give a number of options to the Marlins at low cost. We pay a premium for a much better player with a higher ceiling. I think most GM's would take this deal in a second. I don't get the FoF attitude. It's a losing team's attitude. I would even throw in an additional player and it would still be a deal.DJBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18365250980039531291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3442809928829881676.post-40559358983644389632013-06-24T19:49:17.973-04:002013-06-24T19:49:17.973-04:00Nobody. He doesn't think he is ready because he found him as a 2 pitch guy who needed to perfect his slider to go with his "plus" changeup and fastball with good movement.

What works in AA could certainly work or you could end up like some of these Cardinal and Orioles top prospects who had a nice record in the Minors and got crushed once there was a scouting report.

Second time through the order in the MLB, Taylor Jordan can be very hittable. Ramos back and healthy and rotating every other day will help in the #8 spot too. This and a big bat at the trade deadline--with JZimm, SS, Gio coming on strong and Det coming around and the BP hanging tough maybe even Garcia and Mattheus reappearing--I think we have a good chance of making a hell of a run at winning the division. But we have to get healthy.realdealnatshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01859440944007854256noreply@blogger.com
