I'm just skeptical he can do it when there are other more motivated buyers out there.<br /><br />As for closing the gap - if the Nats fall even further behind, as you say, fuggadaboutit. Even if they hold steady at 7 games back, they'll have lost that many more chances to catch up--if their playoff odds are 10% now, they'll be even lower then, and a gamble for a big 2013 push is even less likely to pay off.
