I understand forgiveness, trust me. It is the heartbeat of my calling as a pastor. But my experience as a former coach tells me athletes are creatures of habit to a greater degree than most folks. The question of PED use will linger for better or worse. My point regarding Ramirez was this:some people can't break destructive habits when they know they should. That isn't silly; it is life for some folks. It's called addiction (in this case, to success, popularity, etc.). Baseballswammi, same thing for IRod. I can be a fan without giving players a complete pass on the past. Love the sinner; hate the sin. Thus ends the sermon. What I've been seeing the past few games tells me they need him more for his defense! And unfortunately, that's the part that is going to take longer to get back.

Both Cora and Hairston are really not even close to as good as Alberto Gonzalez was in the infield. That kid provided gold-glove caliber fielding from the bench at 3rd, short, and second and even managed to play first base. I am seeing balls get by both Cora and Hairston that I know he and Zim would reach and would likely be outs.

But just as last year Riggleman probably wouldn't play him preferring his clubhouse pecking order and his washed up veterans ... instead of Guzman, Harris, Maxwell, etc. when he had both Kennedy and Gonzalez available, Riggleman now force feeds us Cora, Hairston, Stairs, and Ankiel.

Don't all those damned major league scouts who were complaining about Dunn and Morse see that?
