But I don't get this obsession some folks have with ticket sales and attendance #s.

Sec 222

The ALR situation will be interesting as it develops. I'd like to see him back--more than I wanted to see Dunn back, for sure--but everything has a price.

Can he get 3 years, somewhere? Maybe, esp. if the Nats go deep into the post-season and he's a star. But he couldn't get a 3-yr deal 2 yrs ago, when he was that much younger.

In his 2 seasons with the Nats, one was essentially lost, due to the shoulder; this year is a very good season, but it's not really that far off his norms for the 3 yrs before he became a Nat. The HRs are up, from 25 a yr, to 28 and counting this year. But his slash line for those years was .269/.339/.485, vs .270/.342/.506.hiramhoverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08496411226029547341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3442809928829881676.post-83272665228500057522012-09-06T15:47:23.407-04:002012-09-06T15:47:23.407-04:00Don't really get all this cynicism about the L...Don't really get all this cynicism about the Lerner email. So they decided to limit season ticket sales to 20,000. Or maybe they're just saying that as a marketing gimmick. Maybe they're sincere and their reasons are what they said in the email, or maybe they're not telling us the real reason they're doing this - that is, if they really are doing this. Maybe the Lerners or whoever wrote that email are inept at marketing, or maybe they're marketing geniuses. But really, who cares? What's the big deal? It's not like they're calling radio stations in Philadelphia and inviting their fans to come on down, or selling group tickets to tour buses full of ugly and smelly Phillies fans, or anything of the sort. If the Lerners really want to help Average Joe fans get into games, or even if they're just saying that to try to fool big spenders into buying more season tickets, why is that a bad thing? The Real Feel Wood. Last night Charl...Ghost, you nailed it on LaRoche. Last night Charlie and Dave were chit chatting with Phil Wood and had to remind him that there's a mutual option and the Nats can't force LaRoche to stay here. And then they said, it seems like a no brainer that the Nats will try to exercise it. Sure it's a no brainer that they'd like to get him on one year contract. But he'll never agree to it. He's having a career year in his contract year. Why wouldn't he test the open market?

That's not to say he won't re-sign with us, perhaps at some discount because he likes the clubhouse and the team and the chances for more postseason glory. But first he's going to find out if someone will offer him a 3 or more year deal. And if someone does (and I don't think it will be us), he might very well take it.

I think the same is true for E-Jax. He might finally get that multi-year deal he wants after this season. Everyone who is calling for him or LaRoche to be extended should just relax and wait. Cause neither of them is going to sign on the dotted line until they see what they are worth to other teams. Jordan has been held to six innings most of the season. Maybe Davey needs to throw him out there and let him spend some extra energy. I have also noticed that he is better on five days and has not been as good on more. One thing you have to realize about Jordan's struggles - the other pitchers struggled either early in the season, or once in a while, or in the first inning. Jordan was super consistent for a long, long time. He was bound to go through a tough stretch. Seems like a big strong, tough guy to me. Hoping for the best tonight.baseballswamihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03473384422940931212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3442809928829881676.post-61085329972677869802012-09-06T14:34:57.316-04:002012-09-06T14:34:57.316-04:00Oh fer Pete's sake, Ghost.....Gio is FROM Miam...Oh fer Pete's sake, Ghost.....Gio is FROM Miami....he shouldn't root for his hometown basketball team?Ron In Restonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05400700637986107726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3442809928829881676.post-14183632668888032952012-09-06T14:31:28.174-04:002012-09-06T14:31:28.174-04:00Feel Wood -- azakly.Feel Wood -- azakly.Steady Eddiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11342496530868597550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3442809928829881676.post-79696177747790050262012-09-06T14:31:14.600-04:002012-09-06T14:31:14.600-04:00Yo, STHs...
